Even if a FLYSURFER kite construction is officially approved for kite racing in the IKA class – Formula Kite, this does NOT mean that the kite itself is automatically IKA registered. This must be registered by the rider him/herself, so that he/she is allowed to officially compete in the IKA class – Formula Kite and it’s specific events. The rules are quite clearly – if a racekite is used in an official Formula Kite – IKA class event, which has NO unique IKA plaque ID number on the IKA entered plaque, the rider(s) will be immediately disqualified and must reckon with a potential ban for future events. For us as manufacturer it has not such a dramatic effect, but it would certainly have a bitter aftertaste for us as a passionate kite-racing brand and the kite racer(s) in question. And that is why we inform you again pro-actively – so you know, and you can also spread this information competently to your co-racers who involves this!
IMPORTANT:
The FLYSURFER kites BOOST1, SONIC-FR and BOOST2 are currently registered by the IKA as a registered series production kite. BUT the kites, which are actually used during IKA Formula Kite or EC/WC Formula Kite/Hydrofoil events, must be equipped with a unique IKA Plaque ID number.
- This unique ID number you ONLY receive after purchasing these performance kites – AND registering these kites yourself on the FLYSURFER Homepage for official use in IKA kite class competitions.
- Furthermore the model and manufacturer’s serial number must be entered on the IKA plaque as well (see blue marking on the photo).
- FLYSURFER will send you a unique ID number, and this must be written, by the rider himself, with permanent marker on the IKA badge location, which is printed on the kite (see red marking on the photo).
