Gian Andrea Stragiotti

At the age of 9 Gian got addicted to kiteboarding and at 10 he discovered his passion for kitefoiling. Although the main focus is sharing this love for kiting in splendid natural settings with people from around the world, Gian was not hesitant to compare his versatile skills with others. At the age of 14, he got on the podium at the Youth Freestyle World Championships. Living in Zürich isn’t necessarily the most suitable location for a pro sailing career. Moving into a sports school program allowed Gian to travel to exceptional kiteboarding spots for training. With the double world title in the Youth Foil Class he demonstrated his serious potential for the Olympic Formula Class. Consequently, he was selected to join the Swiss Sailing Formula Kite Elite team. Supported by this network, Gian has set his sights on achieving the podium at the 2028 Olympic Games in L.A. Gian never travels with just his racing equipment; he is always prepared for a soul freeride session, a smile in a Big Air or some Winging. He is truly living our FLYSURFER brand mission, leveraging our high-performance product to push the limits in Racing and Big Air, while sharing the kite passion in all disciplines with a smile on his face: “Racing to win and always enjoying the ride!“
