Having grown up with a Singaporean mother and a Swiss father, he feels at home both on tropical islands and in the mountains. Max discovered kiteboarding at a young age and dedicated himself fully to Formula Kite from the very beginning. A true foil native, he flew his first FLYSURFER foil kite at the age of six and competed in his first hydrofoil race just a few years later.

Maximilian Maeder secured his third World Championship
The 2026 Kite Foil World Championships in Viana do Castelo delivered everything the sport could ask for: powerful Atlantic conditions, high-pressure racing, dramatic finals, and ultimately a historic result for FLYSURFER athletes.
