Simone Romano
Simone “Simmo” Romano is an Italian kitefoiler, adventurer, and content creator, better known as Orangeman. Orange isn't just his color anymore, it has become his identity. He started kitefoiling in 2018 and immediately fell in love with foiling, especially for its ability to unlock new possibilities in the light-wind conditions where he lives. Since then, he has pushed the limits of long-distance kitefoiling while exploring new places, creating content, and sharing his adventures with his community. Over the years, his passion has expanded beyond kitefoiling to surf foil, pump foil and paragliding. He's always looking for new challenges, new disciplines and new adventures. After overcoming lymphoma in 2026, getting back on the water and returning to competition became one of the biggest challenges of his life 🧡

Personal Highlights
Simone “Simmo” Romano has built an impressive record both on the race course and through long-distance adventures. In 2026, he won Race 1 of the Kitefoil Masters World Championship and went on to finish 5th overall, just after seven months of intensive chemotherapy and overcoming lymphoma. He previously placed 6th at the 2023 Kitefoil Masters World Championship. Beyond competition, Simmo has completed a remarkable 222 km kitefoil journey along the Ligurian coast, from Chiavari to Isola del Tino, Genova and back to Chiavari, as well as an incredible 12,010 km of kitefoiling in a single year. His return to competition in 2026 marks not only a sporting comeback, but also the overcoming of one of the most challenging periods of his life.
