Our Standards

Design follows Function.

Good equipment does not start with a list of features. It starts with a simple question: what do you really need outside? Control. Trust. Durability. A clear feeling for your gear. And the confidence that every detail has a purpose. At FLYSURFER, we do not follow short-lived hype. Our products are shaped by experience, testing, feedback, and the ambition to keep refining every detail under real conditions. On water, on snow, on land, in training, and in competition.

Our design is focused, technical, and built around function. Nothing should be more complicated than it needs to be. Nothing is there just to look good. Every material, seam, line, and system has to contribute to performance, safety, durability, and your progression.

Manufacturing Standards

Trust does not begin at the spot. It begins in development, material selection, and production. Our manufacturing standards are built on many years of experience with foil kites, LEI kites, wings, control bars, boards, and lines. We work with reliable suppliers and partners with whom we have developed a shared understanding of quality over time. This knowledge flows into every product, from the first prototype to series production. This level of precision becomes especially important in high-performance products. For race products such as the VMG³, material research, production quality, and detailed development had to come together at the highest level. The experience gained from projects like this continues to shape our standards across other product areas.

Material Know How

Material is not just a selling point on a spec sheet. It is a decision you feel in every session. Foil kite fabrics need to be light, stable, and durable. LEI fabrics need structure, abrasion resistance, and a strong balance between weight and longevity. Control bar materials have to work reliably in salt, sand, cold, heat, and water. Board layers need to balance load, flex, weight, and durability. Lines need to stay precise, strong, and as stable as possible over time. That is why we never look at material in isolation. We look at how it works together with construction, use, maintenance, and service. A good material is not automatically the lightest or the most expensive one. It is the material that makes the most sense for the intended use.

Foil Kite PRODUCT Standards

Foil kites are part of our DNA. They require precision in construction and a deep understanding of how air, pressure, profile, lines, and load distribution work together.

Air Intake

Air intakes help the kite build shape quickly and evenly. They support internal pressure, help during launch, and contribute to control across the entire wingspan.

Drainage System

A good drainage system helps remove water, sand, or small objects from inside the kite. This protects the material and supports reliable handling, especially during relaunches or sessions in changing conditions.

Bridle Attachment Points

Bridle attachment points transfer loads into the construction. Their position, reinforcement, and workmanship directly affect stability, profile accuracy, and long-term durability.

The Mixer

The Mixer controls the relationship between the different bridle levels of the foil kite. It influences angle of attack, camber, and flight behavior. It also allows trim and maintenance, helping the kite keep flying reliably even after intensive use.

Ribs and Cross Ports

Ribs and cross ports create the internal structure of the kite. They support pressure distribution, stability, and profile accuracy. This is where construction and flight feeling are closely connected.

Color Coded Bridle

A color coded bridle makes the setup easier to understand. It supports checks, reduces the risk of mistakes, and helps make handling more intuitive before and after your session.

L.E.I. KITE Product Standards

Our L.E.I. products follow the same principle: clear functionality, robust construction, and reliable handling. The Free Flow One-Pump system, seams, reinforcements, and bridles must prove themselves in everyday use, during quick setup, in changing wind conditions, in waves, and across many sessions.

Free Flow System

The Free Flow System supports uniform air distribution throughout the structure. It helps build pressure reliably, making the product quick and easy to rig and pack down.

Back Line Adjuster

The Back Line Adjuster allows you to adapt your setup to your riding style, trim preferences, and intended use. Small adjustments can make a noticeable difference in how the product feels.

Bridle with Pulleys

A bridle with pulleys supports depower, load distribution, relaunch, and control. It helps the product adapt to different wind ranges and riding situations.

Reinforced Seams

Reinforced seams protect high-load areas and enhance durability. Wherever tension, pressure, and movement come together, precise workmanship helps build trust in your gear.

Lightweight & Efficient Construction

The perfect balance of weight and durability. Optimized panel layouts and efficient load distribution minimize weight without compromising strength, delivering responsive handling, excellent stability, and long-lasting structural integrity.

Teijin D2 Double Ripstop Canopy

The lightweight Teijin D2 Double Ripstop canopy combines low-stretch characteristics with a reinforced ripstop structure for outstanding strength and durability. Its low-porosity construction helps preserve the aerodynamic profile over time, delivering lasting performance.

L.E.I. Wing Product Standards

Wings create a different connection to the wind. More direct, more free, and closer to the body. That is why a clear and intuitive feeling matters from the first moment you hold it. A wing should support you without making things complicated. It needs to feel stable in your hands, respond predictably, and give you enough control to focus on your foil, the wind, and the water. Here too, features are never added for the sake of features. What matters is whether a detail makes a real difference on the water. Our wing standards follow the same principles as every FLYSURFER product: smart material choices, robust workmanship, clear function, and a design that makes progression easier.

Optimal Air Pressure

Stiffness requires optimal air pressure to minimize flex under high loads and demanding conditions. Our LEI wings use two push-push air valves to maximize stiffness and maintain sail tension throughout the wing.

Load Distribution

Our L.E.I. wings feature an optimized high-performance frame with precisely placed UPE Aramid or Dacron layers in areas exposed to high loads. A smoother leading edge and carefully optimized panel shaping help maintain clean airflow and aerodynamic efficiency.

Balanced Construction

The perfect balance of weight and durability. Optimized panel layouts reduce weight without compromising strength, delivering responsive handling and long-lasting structural integrity.

Wing-Tip-Flex

The controlled absorption of forces generated by gusts ensures a smooth and stable riding experience, even in demanding conditions. This improves efficiency, comfort, and control at high speeds and during rapid maneuvers.

The Race DNA

Our designs are driven by performance and efficiency to deliver the widest possible wind range for each size. Excellent low-end power, efficient upwind performance, and precise handling at higher speeds allow riders to get more out of every session.

Quality Control

A product is only ready when it meets our standards. That takes clear processes, material testing, production control, and feedback from real use. We test, check, and refine before a product reaches you. At the same time, we think beyond the first session. Maintenance, spare parts, trim, repair, and clear information are part of what makes equipment usable for the long term. Durability does not come from strong materials alone. It comes from products that can be checked, cared for, and used with confidence over many sessions.

We protect your progress.

Our standards are there to support the moments that matter: learning something new, training with focus, traveling to unknown spots, handling stronger conditions, or taking the next step in your riding. We build equipment for people who take wind seriously and still want to feel free. For schools that need simple and robust systems. For riders who want trust in their setup. For athletes who feel every detail. And for everyone who truly uses their gear.

Performance serves you. Safety creates trust. And trust gives you room for progression.
